Drum & Bass's finest supergroup the "Future Sound of Cambridge" began from humble beginnings. Nu:Tone a former member of the Jesus College Choir, Logistics at Goldsmiths college and Detroit dreamers Commix honing their skills in their fenland lair. Together their impact on drum & bass has been immense.
Metalheadz, V & SoulR have all been graced by releases from one or more of this Cambridge foursome, but it was their spiritual home Hospital in 2004 which got them all on board for the now legendary "Future Sound Of Cambridge" EP. Featuring four awesome tracks, within drum & bass there was none bigger than the mighty "Together" which became a true anthem of the scene.
Skipping forward 2 years, following a whole host of individual successes the boys were back in town to unleash the "Future Sound of Cambridge 2" deeper and deadlier than before this featured the awesome "when pilots eject" and cemented Cambridge as a hotbed of drum & bass innovation.
In 2008 after two 4-track EPs it was time to go full fat and unleash the "Future Sound of Cambridge 3" - an awesome 11-track album. Dancefloor bangers from Logistics were supplemented by big room euphoria from Nu:Tone and underground bass heavy sickness from Commix.
Commix, Logistics & Nu:Tone remain on top of the game in 2009. Keep your eyes firmly locked on Cambridge when it comes to the future of DnB, these boys are just getting warmed up!
