Tough Guys Don’t Dance is the incredible third album from Hospital’s original DnB prodigy and we can exclusively reveal that the 3 piece vinyl LP is now available on white label from the Hospital WebShop.
This multifaceted rollercoster includes oldskool-influenced nuggets “Tread Softly” and “The Ghost Of Jungle Past” as well as the face-melting techno styles of “Metamorphosis”. Not to mention the slinky downbeat dnb switch up of “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and the upbeat euphoria provided by “Eternal Optimist” and “Sleepless”.
Tough Guys is as much music for the dancefloor as it is the soundtrack to an unwritten film. Drawing its influence from a wide range of sources, and maintaining High Contrast’s appeal to fans of broad musical persuasions. Featuring some exciting collaborations and guest performances, this is the sound of a genre defining producer at the top of his game… don’t miss it!!
Whites are in limited supply but are available on the Hospital Shop now… click HERE.
Hospitality @ Herbal has become a byword for a good night out, and we’re proud to be able to say that we’ve played host to pretty much everyone who’s anyone in the D&B scene – with DJs from around the world queuing up to play, and most importantly our faithful crowd of regulars making each and every months session a night out to remember. But, as you know, we always like to stay one step ahead of the game, and that’s why we’re moving onwards and upwards and leaving Herbal on a high! With over six years non-stop as Herbal’s busiest and most exciting monthly D&B night, it’s time to move on.
Friday 21st December 2007 was the final Hospitality @ Herbal and it was rounded off in spectacular fashion thanks to a very special Hospital-only back to back set from London Elektricity and Tomahawk. Many thanks to everyone in attendance for the finale and an even bigger thanks to all the people who have enjoyed the Hospitality sessions in Shoreditch since it began way back in 2001.
As we move into 2008, keep your eyes peeled, and your ears to the ground to find out what we’ll be doing next… Watch this space!

Hailing from Finland the man Muffler has a secret NHS history. Under the name Konsta he had a cheeky 12″ on Hospital’s M*A*S*H label back in the day, and a track on Hospital Mix 3.
Mermaids is a track as elegant and beautiful as the name suggests. There’s no fishy business going on here as synths from the deepest ocean trenches come correct with a swelling bassline and a rolling Balearic guitar hook. But there’s more to this 12″ with the sublime
Waves Breaking on the flip – a consummate slice of electric soul. The intro washes over you before the hypnotizing piano hook snares you in like a siren and you come crashing down on the rocks of the drop.
This release is now available on the Hospital Shop…
It’s back to school for S.P.Y with his second killer 12″ on Hospital’s experimental sister label.
“Ghostship” is an off the peg dancefloor rinse, with head down squelching synths and a vintage techstep drum work-out. On the flip comes “Silent Sleeper” another hybrid monster, chosen by Fabio as his “left of the field” tune on BBC Radio One this is stand out material and no mistake.

Having already nailed the definitive soulful D&B anthem early in 2007 in the shape of “Everything’s Different” High Contrast is back once more – and this time he’s bringing the biggest slice of retro jungle funk this side of the millennium.
If We Ever features the spine tingling vocals of the legendary Diane Charlemagne. An instantly memorable piano hook and sublime oldschool breaks and bass lines fool you into thinking you know the tune from back in the day. It’s already an anthem thanks to huge dubplate support from Mr Andy C, Fabio & Grooverider, Annie Mac, Hype, Zinc and many many more.
As always the flipside brings the contrast – Pink Flamingos smacks the dancefloor hard. With the raw energy of early Prodigy tracks, the vowel filter, the synth strings, the vibe is distinctly electric on this one. “Pink Flamingos” has been mashing up the dance at Fabric and the main room at Heaven with a big intro and a drop that hits the spot, just like the doctor ordered.
