Nu:Logic reveal audio visual concept for new album

Friday, March 8th, 2013

We have just uploaded the first in a series of videos previewing the Nu:Logic album “What I’ve Always Waited For”, which is due for release on Hospital Records on March 25th.

Working with director Nez Savaşkan we wanted to create visual accompaniments for each of Nu:Logic’s tunes which captured the vibe and feeling of each track. This resulted in a series of twelve simple vignettes not conforming to the standard conventions you might expect from a promo video.

“Morning Light” is the lead track and introduces you to the locations and characters whose lives you will be observing over the next two weeks as we reveal them in the run up to the album’s release.

OUT NOW: Nu:Logic – ‘Morning Light’

Monday, February 25th, 2013

Nu:Logic is the collaborative alias of brothers Nu:Tone and Logistics, here joining forces in the studio for the first time since 2010’s “New Technique EP”.

Calm and mellow from start to finish, “Morning Light” is a blissed out track which pairs pattering drums with cooing vocals for maximum effect, whilst guitar strumming and sub-heavy upright bass add weight and depth.

Over on the flipside we have the not-so-cuddly “Grizzly” which switches up the tempo and goes for the jugular with superb trigger-clicking, bass-ridden stabbing beats.

Performing ‘Shine In’ the lead single from Nu:Tone’s recently released album “Words + Pictures” alongside ‘System’, ‘Spread Love’ and a cover of Adele ‘Rolling In The Deep’, the performers included: Dan Nu:Tone on keys, Richard Spaven on drums, Robin Mullarkey on bass, Matt Logistics on samples + FX, plus Natalie Williams as lead vocalist and Sharlene Hector and Brendan Reilly providing backing vocals.

You can listen again to Nu:Tone’s Maida Vale Live Session for the next 7 days on BBC iPlayer

Dan Nu:Tone commented: “Ever since I released my first album, people have been asking if and when I’m going to do a live ‘thing’. Up to this point, it’s never felt right – I think there are so many elements that have to be in place. But finally, it made sense, and thanks to Natalie, an amazing group of musicians, and a lot of hard work, it all came together.”
