The Future Sound Of TokyoVarious Artists
Hospital's “Future Sounds Of” series continues to go from strength to strength with it's most ambitious project yet!
Having brought you the pastoral English sounds of the Future Sound Of Cambridge, and gone behind the iron curtain into Hungary for the Future Sound Of Budapest, this time we've gone next level to bring you the Future Sound Of Tokyo! This EP is a varied beast - Japanese stars from all styles of DNB are represented here, from the deeper melodic sounds of Pentagon and Makoto, to the high energy dancefloor funk of ES9.
Long time Hospital collaborator T-ak leads the charge on “What I'm Talkin' About” a no nonsense upright bass steppa with Makoto on assistant production duty. Next up is the one which many have been waiting for - the man Makoto's epic re-rub of London Elektricity's classic “Rewind”. An orgy of amens and vocal harmonies which has been getting DJs from Total Science to High Contrast hot under the collar.
Slate two steps up the pace with some full on dancefloor funk courtesy of Tokyo's superstar ES9, alongside the legendary Sonic - now a Tokyo resident! “Accelerator” comes like a bullet train - a no nonsense Far East rinse out! To calm things off one of Tokyo's finest exports Pentagon is on hand with the gorgeous “Summer of 73” - a text book exercise in deep down sunshine vibes.
