Ahead of the release of his debut album on Hospital, Reso joins the Hospital crew in the Rinse FM studios to step up for a guest mix + chat about all things ‘Ricochet’….
After a two year hiatus ‘Hospitality’ is back, and bigger than ever! This massive fifth instalment comes fresh from winning “Best Club Night” (for the fourth year running!) at the Drum&Bass Arena awards.
We’re very excited to announce that we have joined forces with Microsoft and Playground Games to develop the Hospital Records Radio station on the brand new Forza Horizon 2 computer game which is set for release on 30th September 2014.
Rob da Bank curates the overall soundtrack and invites his music industry friends and favourite independent record labels from around the world to host radio stations in the game: Hospital Records, Innovative Leisure, and Ninja Tune.
Our station features the familiar voices of London Elektricity and Hospital M.D. Chris Goss, as you race round Europe and the Horizon music festival with Hospital Records and Med School Music as your soundtrack. Look out for some brand new unreleased music from Metrik and Nu:Tone’s forthcoming albums, as well as very some familiar tracks by artists across both labels.
In addition, Med School star Keeno provides the soundtrack to the coveted “press start” sequence, which means ‘Nocturne’ is the first track you hear when you play the game!
“London’s undisputed kings of drum & bass bring all of their top artists to Horizon for the very first time.” Microsoft
‘We had so much fun recording the voice overs with Microsoft and its a massive honour to appear on the game alongside such a high calibre of talent.” London Elektricity
Med School release Keeno ‘Nocturne’ also appears on the press start sequence, which means this is the first track you hear when ever anyone plays the game.

On Saturday 16th August the BBC airwaves were taken over by the Crème de la crème of the D+B scene as we joined together for the first ever BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra D+B soundclash. Making history and marking 12 years of BBC 1Xtra, the battle was hosted by Mistajam and Crissy Cris.
“With our troops ready, we’re certainly fired up for the D&B Soundclash with BBC Radio1 & 1Xtra this weekend. It’s a pleasure to go head to head with what can only be described as the Crème de la crème of the scene.
Tough guys from Viper, Shogun’s shoegazers, and Ram’s cockney thugs are no match for our skilled surgeons. Armed with Weapons of Mass Creation we’ll blow the gaff wide open with soul and style!
Jokes beef aside, the D&B scene is fresher than ever and it’s amazing for the BBC to recognise this enough to conduct such an exciting showcase. The diversity of the four labels involved (and so many others) is what keeps our scene crisp with an array of new talent and releases, all of which have their own individual stamp. So it’s more than just a soundclash – it’s a celebration of the strength of the scene. We’re all winners, whatever the outcome… except we will be the winners… obvs.”
The clash consisted of 5 tailored rounds where #TeamHOSPITAL, Ram Records, Shogun Audio and Viper Recordings brought their troops with force to battle for the title.
Round 1 – Team Anthem – Label Boss London Elektricity drops a minimix of classic Hospital bangers to kick off the show.
Round 2 – Quick Mix – Metrik 6 min mix
Round 3 – Secret Guest Minimix – With Fred V & Grafix on the selection TeamHOSPITAL drew for the mighty Noisia!
Round 4 – Bootleg Round – S.P.Y smashes the bootleg round making his mark on Ten Walls – Walking With Elephants.
Round 5 – All Star Mix – Exactly what it says on the tin. All stars uniting with MC Dynamite on mic duties.
London Elektricity provided some epic Dad dancing….
The whole team had a fantastic time and regardless of the outcome it was a fantastic showcase to be apart of and a great way to celebrate the strength of the D+B scene at the moment. It was a win for #TeamHOSPITAL but of course we were ecstatic to walk away with the cup!
MEDIC40: Keeno ‘Life Cycle’
Release date: June 30th
Med School are proud to present the brand new, debut album ‘Life Cycle’ by Keeno.
At only 20 years old, classically trained and multi instrumentalist, Will Keen aka Keeno, has developed his sound since first releasing on Med School back in April 2013. Following the release of his Nocturne EP in December of last year, Keeno has worked tirelessly to further his songwriting and production skills, and the result is a truly stunning body of music. This 14 track album, featuring collaborations with the likes of Pat Fulgoni, Louisa Bass, Whiney, Zoe Klinck and AZEDIA, demonstrates the raw talent of Keeno as he blends beautiful, orchestral and cinematic textures with crisp beats and warm basslines.
Opening track, ‘As One’ featuring Pat Fulgoni + “Innocence” are now available for those who pre order the album via iTunes.
The brand new video for “Innocence” was filmed over the last 2 months by Keeno and edited by Ash Med School.
