Plastic Surgery 3 Sampler

Warming you up for the next instalment in the Plastic Surgery series, Hospital comes with a 12" sampler that cures the current thirst for drum&bass. Two tracks, from opposite ends of the drum&bass spectrum but both guaranteed to smash up dance-floors globally.

First up: a re-rub of a Hospital classic…. When you get a tidy fusion of thick, creamy drum & bass with tuff beats from Hospital's Danny Byrd who better to step up for remix duty than Calibre. In his ubiquitous style Calibre strips the tune down to its bare bones, revealing a minimal roll out with a bumpy edge. This has received support from Fabio and all the Swerve crew.

Flip the disc for something truly original and left of centre. Norwegian duo, Xploding Plastix, create their own style with twisted kit-drums, flamenco guitar, and an 'anything goes'-mentality. "Treat Me Mean, I Need The Reputation" is jump-up latin jazz, rolling at 175bpm; 100% fresh, there's never been a drum&bass tune like it.

The album celebrates the renaissance of drum&bass, showcasing artists both new & old, all representing the new wave of uplifting drum&bass. The album features Hospital's Tony Colman, Danny Byrd & High Contrast (fresh from his Welsh Music award for Best Producer) alongside guests Total Science, Mathematics, Quartz, Blue Sonix, Delta, London Elektricity vs. Nitin Sawhney and Virtual Suspects.
